What do you Want in 2018?

God I seriously can’t believe it is almost the end of the year and everyone is coming up with the whole focus on what your ‘new year’s resolutions’ should be!

It is all too easy to switch off! You know you have tried before and it just didn’t work so why bother this year.

However, years go by at an alarming rate and it is useful to take a good look at what you want to happen next year otherwise life can simply pass you by!

But instead of coming up with new year’s resolutions I want you to try something completely different.

What do you want in 2018?

I suggest you take a few moments in a quiet place to drop into your heart and take the time to really get in touch with your hearts deepest desires. This is not a shallow list of resolutions, rather it is connecting to what you really want. Sit in a quiet place, make sure you are comfortable and maybe even light a candle. I recommend you do the following breathing exercise for 4-10 minutes:

Breathe in deeply from your diaphragm for 6 breathes and then breathe out for six breathes. Imagine you are breathing directly into your heart – breathe in love, ease and compassion and breathe out tension, stress and disappointment. Connect to a positive feeling or a feeling of love it could be for a person or a pet. At the same time place your hand on your heart – this will start the flow of oxytocin (the love hormone).

You will notice at the end of the time you will feel peaceful and connected to your heart. Now this is the time where you will be able to connect to your deepest desire. What does your heart tell you? What does it deeply want?

Take the time to listen to your heart and deeply FEEL what you want. We waste too much time come from our heads instead of our hearts.

Feelings are the key to connecting with what you want to make happen in your life.

Now I want you to let your thoughts just flow – literally get out of your head and into your heart. Write whatever comes to you from your heart. Don’t be criterial or judge what comes up, just write it down. It may help to set a timer for a minimum of 20 minutes, and let your thoughts flow, don’t filter anything. Doing this free flowing exercise will let you get out of your head, and into your feelings, which is critical to manifesting what you want.

Why do you want it?

FEEL into WHY you want this, what does it mean for you to have it, and how will life be different for you when you have it?

Write down your answers.

Great, now it is time to see if you belief it can happen! Check in with your belief, on a scale of 1-10, 10 being complete and total belief, that what you want will be happening for you?

If you are under 5, WHY?

What’s keeping you from full belief?

What do you need to believe?

Take the time to write down your answers, they will tell you a lot.

It is time to get real with yourself because you don’t want to go into 2018 not believing you can achieve your dreams. Now this can be related to any area of your life including love! If you don’t believe it then you won’t create it!

This simple exercise will help you connect with what you truly want in 2018 and will show you any blocks you have for creating it.
